Greetings:
WCIT is no longer trading in the Bluetooth space.
We wish to thank any company or person who with we may have had any business dealings and wish them all well in the future.
Since our inception in 2004 WCIT strove to be leaders in Bluetooth implementation. We achieved many of the goals which we initially set out to achieve. Among our many successes were:
· Launching Bluetooth in retail environments. At one point we had over 50 malls active with Bluetooth systems and sending out over 100 000 Bluetooth messages a month · Since 2004 over 6 million cells phones in South Africa have received messages from WCIT systems · WCIT enabled Gateway Center in Durban to win a Maxi award (a first for any mall in Africa) · WCIT developed the worlds first Bluetooth enabled CRM system which we patented. · Since 2004 we gave advice and provided information on “how to” do Bluetooth Location Based Marketing to approximately 200 companies across the world. · WCIT brought a range of innovative Bluetooth implementations to the market that are followed the world over. · WCIT was the first company to use Bluetooth to provide customer foot-count data at malls.
However the economic downturn in 2008 highlighted certain important factors which we considered:
· Bluetooth location based marketing has a niche role in the greater scheme of things. This niche is just not big enough to sustain a smaller non-funded company in the longer term. · CRM and its integration with mobile can only work if the client and their marketing staff understand the basics of customer communication. Keep Bluetooth simple and it sells better. · Retail wants that elusive CRM “holy grail” but when it’s given to them they just don’t know what to do with it. · Bluetooth as a technology is labour intensive, |
